“One passes through Taize as one passes close to a spring of water. The traveler
stops, quenches his thirst and continues on his way” St. Pope John Paul II
As we follow the Way of the Cross on Friday, March 8 th , we will meditate and imagine Christ’s passion and death. We do this in the manner of Taize which is a prayer designed to achieve a contemplative state through prayer, music and silence.
We will be following Jesus in a very private manner. As we walk we will try to place
ourselves in God’s presence, we will be at His side. As we meditate we will forget
ourselves and journey slowly along the Via Doloroso. We will hear the crowd shouting,
the women weeping, we will sense the mental and physical pain that Jesus is suffering. We will meet and sob with our Sorrowful Mother. Let us forget ourselves for a while and try to discover Jesus’ love for us, as He gives up His life on the cross.
“He will provide the way and the means, such as you could never have imagined. Leave it all to Him, let go of yourself. Lose yourself on the Cross, and you will find yourself entirely.”
